It took place on October 6th one of most challenging event for car design lovers: Autostyle Design Competition (14th edition), the international kermesse focused on automotive design.

Throughout the years, Autostyle has become a traditional rendez-vous with hundreds of followers, as it has been able to become the reference meeting point for the biggest worldwide automotive designers and the most suitable context to select the young talented students who will design the car styling of the coming years.

Every year Autostyle Design Competition is organized and promoted by Berman S.p.A. – a manufacturer of car components and special versions since 1972 located in the outskirts of Mantua – with the support of the prestigious bimonthly magazine Auto&Design, Bustaffa, Wacom and Cantina Sociale di Quistello.

The car styling event was opened by Robin Page, Senior Vice President of Volvo Design, who has illustrated the Creativity of the Swedish Carmaker. During the workshop of Mitja Borkert, Lamborghini Chief Designer, we discovered the secrets of Performante Art of Lamborghini Design Center; Alessandro Maccolini has described the project of Alfa Romeo Stelvio. Filippo Perini, Design Director of Italdesign, has revealed us the secrets of the ZeroUno Special Serie. Lastly, Aldo Maria Sica, who attended Autostyle 2012 as a student and currently is a designer at Bugatti, was the main actor of the final workshop focused on the brand-new Bugatti Chiron.

Berman S.p.A. is located in San Benedetto Po (Mantua) and produce car components for the major carmaker brands.

Something by Berman is on many automotive lead models: such as, on Jeep Renegade, on Bentayga Bentley, on RAV4 Toyota, on the new Coupé Maserati, on Portofino Ferrari, on Nissan and Renault pick-up, on Huracan Lamborghini, on next Spider Aston Martin, … The Engineering & Development Dept., made of more than 30 technicians, allows a constant flow of new products which are produced in 3 different sites: plastics, metals and assembly, in a covered area of over 23000 square meters. Today the staff consists of about 200 people.

The awarding ceremony concluded the event. Samuele Dell’Oro, a former student of the 8th edition of Master TAD, received two awards: the “Audience Award” by Wacom and the “Creativity Award” by Auto & Design magazine with his Special Version DS7 CROSSBACK.
The others 12 young designers attending the competition come from Coventry University (UK), IED Turin – IAAD Torino – ISSAM Modena (Italy), IED Barcelona (Spain), ISD Valenciennes – Strate College (France), Pforzheim University (Germany), Cape Peninsula University of Technology (South Africa), Umeå Institute of Design (Sweden).
